If you want to understand the past, you need to know where it’s heading in the future; and when you see the end, you can see the point of the beginning and everything that happens in between.

This is where this book intends to take you.

To discover God’s original plan,

the end of God’s plan,

and the road in-between.

There is a difference between the common understanding of what “faith” means and what scripture intends “faith” to be. Many Christians are embarrassed in the public square that they believe in Jesus or have a connection to the church. Skeptics have managed to set up society such that Christians feel like second class citizens or at least cerebrally deficient. Many Christians believe that “All I need is faith and Jesus” without understanding what “faith” really is. Or perhaps “Somewhere out there are the vindicating facts, but in the mean time I’ll crouch in my corner and just believe – one day I’ll get to heaven and then you will see.”

The verse that justifies this understanding is Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Interpreted, generally, to mean that faith hopes in things not seen. The word “substance” is translated from the Greek “Hupostasis“ which has meanings: (1) a setting or placing under, thing put under, substructure, foundation, (2) that which has foundation, is firm , that which has actual existence (a substance, real being), the substantial quality, nature, of a person or thing, the steadfastness of mind, firmness, courage, resolution (confidence, firm trust, assurance)

This means, in a Christian sense, that faith is based in FACT.

As an illustration, before I sit in a chair, I must first have faith that it will hold me up. A quick look at the chair will tell me that it is made from sturdy and reliable materials, and that it is assembled appropriately. When my faith in the chair is secure, I can sit with assurance. Faith can of course be based on incorrect facts or sometimes incorrect interpretation of the facts. In which case the chair will break and I fall.

This book will set the record straight on what we believe in and that it is reliable, firm, logical, philosophically arguable, scientifically reasoned and morally sound. That our thinking processes are comprehensive and that we are equipped to stand our ground in the public square with good reasons why we believe, and a demeanor that will mark our point of view.

1 Peter 3:15  But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;

This book will attempt to equip you to be ready to give your reasonable faith.
